description
A Turkish-Persian gorget is made of steel . In contrast to the European neck or ring collars, it not only covers the neck, but also the shoulders (see picture info box, bottom right). Additional epaulettes are attached to the sides for this. The neck area is cut out on the front and two strong beads are worked out in the middle for reinforcement and stiffening. The collar also serves to connect the front and back of armor, for example jug armor . The inside is covered with chain armorequipped and often upholstered with thick fabrics. This chain armor also connects the epaulets to the main part of the collar.
