Tōru Irie ( Japanese 入 江 徹 , Irie Tōru ; born July 8, 1977 in Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Irie learned to play soccer on the school team at Shizuoka Kita High School . He signed his first contract with Kashiwa Reysol in 1996 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . For the club he completed 33 first division games. In 2002 he moved to league competitor Vissel Kobe . For the club, he completed five first division games. In 2003 he moved to league rivals Gamba Osaka . With the club he became Japanese champion in 2005 . In 2007 he won the J.League Cup with the club . For the club, he completed 40 first division games. At the end of 2007 he ended his career as a football player.
