T-model is the name of station wagons from the Mercedes-Benz brand . The T stands for tourism and transport .

The first T-model officially presented under this name was the station wagon version of the W 123 in 1977 . T-models are available within the C-Class and E-Class , the majority of the engine versions in these classes are available as sedans or T-models. The internal designation of the T-models always begins with the abbreviation S in front of the series number (e.g. S 123 ). This is derived from the internal designation “station car”.

The simple designation T identified the petrol engine models with carburettors, TE stood for models with petrol injection. The diesels had the abbreviation TD for the suction diesel models or, for models with an exhaust gas turbocharger, TD Turbo . These abbreviations have not been used since the nomenclature was changed in 1993 and the C-Class was introduced.
