T33 (Paralympics)
T33 and F33 are starting classes of Paralympic sports for athletes in athletics . Affiliations of athletes to the two starting classes are outlined as follows:
- "Impairment of coordination (hypertension, ataxia and athetosis). At least moderate paralysis of all limbs with severe one-sided paralysis (asymmetry). Moderate damage to the trunk. The athlete has problems with rapid trunk movements when using a wheelchair. "
The division into classes indicates the degree of functional disability of an athlete that is relevant to competition . Track and field athletes in classes T33 - T38 and F31 - F38 belong to the "coordination impairments ( hypertension , ataxia , athetosis , cerebral palsy , stroke , traumatic brain injury and equals)" . Low class numbers indicate a higher level of impairment than high class numbers. Athletes with class numbers 31–34 start sitting (wheelchair), athletes with class numbers 35–38 standing.
