The Elektron T5L64 is a five-part, continuously low-floor tram - articulated railcar in meter gauge made by the manufacturer Electrontrans from Lviv in the Ukraine . Only one example was built as a prototype, which has been in service with the Lviv tramway since August 2013 with the fleet number 1179 . In 2014 the prototype of a three-part variant of the type Elektron T3L44 with the number 1180 was put into operation. Only this type was subsequently built in series.

The Elektron T5B64 is the variant of the vehicle type T5L64 for the Russian broad gauge . In 2015 and 2016, three vehicles were built for the Kiev tram , which have been in use there with fleet numbers 801 to 803 since then.

Elektrontrans was founded in 2011 by the Ukrainian company Elektron as a joint venture with TransTec Vetschau GmbH and Avtotehnoproekt LLC . Electron T19 trolleybuses are also produced .
