Lists on the subject

The T91 assault rifle (officially 5.56-mm T91 assault rifle ) is the orderly weapon of the Army of the Republic of China and the successor to the T86 assault rifle, which was also developed and produced by the Taiwanese Arsenal 205.

history

In 2001, Arsenal 205 began development of a fourth generation assault rifle for the Taiwanese armed forces to replace the aging Taiwanese T86 assault rifles and US M16 rifles .

technology

The T91 is a further development of the T86. Both guns are air-cooled gas-pressure chargers with a short gas piston stroke. Outwardly, it is closely related to the M16. The upper lock housing is compatible with the lower housing of the M16. A closing aid or a sleeve deflector are not appropriate. The weapon can use STANAG magazines .

reliability

Jordan's armed forces have reportedly tested several weapons in desert conditions. The T91 performed better than the M16 and about as good as the AK-47 .
