The residential complex Bessunger Straße 48, 54, 60 / Ludwigshöhstraße 2, 4 is a building in Darmstadt-Bessungen .
History and description
The four-storey corner building of the social housing was built in the years 1928–1929 according to plans by the architect August Buxbaum . The property, which dominates the cityscape, is stylistically reminiscent of the Viennese municipal buildings from the interwar period . The four-storey residential complex is staggered around an almost square inner courtyard . The bastion-like ground floor and the cornices emphasize the horizontal structure of the residential complex. A dynamic, space-shaping staggering results from the gate structure emphasized by the flat gable roof and the flat oriels placed on top of it .
Monument protection
For architectural, architectural and city history reasons, the residential complex is a listed building .
