TAP (magazine)

TAP - The Youth International Party Line ( YIPL ) is an American underground magazine that has been providing readers with information on phreaking , hacking , dial-up communications , mailboxes , technical modifications to telephone systems and other sometimes illegal topics since June 1971 .

The TAP is probably the oldest hacker newspaper and was published until 1984. It was the model for a whole range of other hacking magazines such as the Phrack , the magazine 2600: The Hacker Quarterly and the German-language data thrower .
