The TCM-20 is an Israeli light anti-aircraft weapon .

history

After the establishment of the State of Israel , the young Israeli army took over anti-aircraft vehicles from the USA , mainly M3 with four 12.7 mm Browning M2 . Over time, however, the performance of this weapon was insufficient. When looking for a larger caliber, they soon came across the 20 mm Hispano-Suiza HS.404 automatic cannon . A traction weapon was first developed, but the TCM-20 was designed so that it could also be easily mounted on vehicles. The first drivable TCM-20s were installed on American M3s and on Soviet BTR-152s captured in the Middle East wars .

In the wars in the Middle East, the TCM-20 was able to prove its versatility. The weapon can be used to combat low-flying aircraft and helicopters as well as in ground combat.

technology

The two machine guns are placed on a mount that can be rotated through 360 °. Rotation and elevation is done by an electric motor, which received its energy from a generator.
