The Rijeka power plant ( Croatian : Termoelektrana Rijeka , short: TE Rijeka ) is an oil-fired power plant with an installed capacity of 320 MW in Bakar , Croatia . The oil power plant was built between 1974 and 1978 and is the most striking structure in Bakar thanks to its high chimney located directly on the boiler house.
The top of the chimney rises 250 m and makes the power plant one of the tallest industrial buildings in Europe. There was still a 250 m high chimney made of reinforced concrete in Bakar Bay, which was called "Eurco chimney" and was demolished in 2005.
