TGRT-EU

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

TGRT Europe (Türkiye Gazetesi Radyo Televizyonu EU) is the first German broadcaster with a full Turkish-language family program. TGRT EU is a bilingual television program that is broadcast from Frankfurt / Main in German and Turkish.

Thanks to its satellite coverage, TGRT has been an international broadcaster since it was set up in 1993 and has earned a strong position in the eyes of European viewers and advertisers. The changing needs of European-Turkish viewers and the growth of the European-Turkish advertising market culminated in the outsourcing of TGRT EU as a brand new channel under the TGRT brand.

With a German license, TGRT EU aims to play an active role in the integration of European Turks into the EU. TGRT EU defines itself as “TV from European Turks for European Turks”. Broadcast from Frankfurt, the station takes a decidedly European perspective and thus sets itself apart from the international trends of other Turkish stations.

The bilingual presentation is a key aspect of TGRT EU. The feature film and entertainment programs in both languages are followed by news bulletins in German and Turkish. Programs in Turkish are subtitled in German and vice versa. The content, which is tempting for a European-Turkish audience, makes the station an efficient medium for advertisers in this market.

The TGRT EU logo is based on the trademark of the parent station. The logo symbolizes the aspect of being a Turkish window to the world. The additional stars and the European types form the European component.

TGRT EU can be received in most of Europe and in the entire Turkish mainland via the Turksat 2A satellite. In many European cities, the station can also be received via cable. Approx. 80% European-Turkish families have access to TGRT EU.

TGRT previously belonged to İhlas Holding , but was sold to News Corporation / Atlantic Records in 2006, but not the trademark rights. The name TGRT was changed to FOX TV TÜRKIYE . In Europe, FOX TV TÜRKIYE broadcasts under the name FOX TURK. The logo has also been changed. Since then many American series and other programs have been shown on FOX TV TÜRKIYE .

The FOX TV broadcast in Europe was given back to İhlas Holding in 2009 and is now called TGRT Haber.
