Türkiye Halk Kurtuluş Partisi-Cephesi (THKP-C, German People's Liberation Party Front of Turkey ) was an armed Marxist-Leninist underground organization in Turkey .

ideology

The organization, which called Turkey a neo- colony , intended to realize a national-democratic revolution through a so-called Second Liberation War against imperialism , fascism and feudalism . Since the working class in the "new colonies of imperialism" has not developed enough, the components of this revolution should be workers, peasants, petty bourgeoisie, students, and progressive elements within the national bourgeoisie.

Liquidation of leadership

The organization was founded in 1970 by Mahir Çayan , Ertuğrul Kürkçü , İlhami Aras , Ulaş Bardakçı and Hüseyin Cevahir . In Turkey, the THKP-C has been classified as terrorist. Shortly after the military coup in Turkey in 1971 , almost all of the organization's leaders were killed by the Turkish armed forces, a large number of sympathizers were arrested and the organization was dissolved.

Start-ups

After the discussions of the THKP-C supporters about the defeat, various splinter groups emerged, including Devrimci Yol (Revolutionary Way), Kurtuluş (Liberation), X Örgütlenmesi (Organization X) (later Halkın Devrimci Önculeri - Revolutionary Avant-Garde of the People), Marksist Leninist Silahlı Propaganda Birliği (MLSPB) (Marxist-Leninist Armed Propaganda Unit) and Direniş Hareketi (Resistance Movement). The Devrimci Sol (Revolutionary Left) group, founded by some devotees of the Devrimci Yol group, was another important armed group that was very active, especially in the 1990s.
