TIK ( Ukrainian : ТІК) is a Ukrainian folk rock band with strong Ska and Chanson influences. It was founded in Vinnytsia in 2005 . The name of the band is an abbreviation for the Ukrainian term " Тверезість і культура ", which means something like "sobriety and culture".
history
The origins of the band go back to the year 2000, when the history student Viktor Bronjuk (vocals, accordion) and the music student Denys Repej (bass) decided to form a band in Vinnytsia. In 2003 guitarist Kostjantyn Terepa and drummer Olexander Filinkow joined them.
The first public appearance took place on June 2, 2005 at a concert in Vinnytsia. In autumn 2005 Jurij Marzenjuk (keyboard, saxophone) joined the band.
In May 2006 the band recorded their first album. One of the first songs recorded was Oleni , which they recorded together with the Belarusian band Lyapis Trubetskoi . From Oleni also was music video recorded, which was first shown in November 2006, on Ukrainian television.
In the summer of 2016 the group played several concerts for the soldiers in Donbass .
