The gymnastics and sports club Dewangen (short: TSV Dewangen ) is a sports club from the Aalen district of Dewangen in Baden-Württemberg . The TSV is best known for the wrestling team, which made it to the 1st Bundesliga Southwest in the 05/06 season, but canceled its team after the 2008/09 season.

The TSV fights its home fights in the Wellandhalle in Dewangen.

history

The association was founded in 1957. 4 years later he was promoted to the regional league. In 1967 it went to the upper league and in 1971 under coach Heini Weber in the then regional league, which was synonymous with today's 2. Bundesliga.

Despite the inauguration of the Wellandhalle, the TSV was unable to keep the class in 1974 and was relegated to the regional league. In 1975, Dieter Eberhard managed to regain his position immediately. In 1977 followed, due to some departures, the voluntary relegation by two classes and the new start in the association league, only to be promoted back to the league the following year.

In 1985 the TSV rose again from the Oberliga to the Association League, from which it was only able to rise again 10 years later, in 1996.

In 2001 he was promoted to the regional league and in 2003 to the 2nd Bundesliga.

In 2006 the promotion to the 1st Bundesliga Southwest was made, in which TSV Dewangen made it to fourth of six places and thus reached the second round, which is the greatest success in the club's history.

After the 2008/09 season , in which the Dewangener took fifth place in the southern season, the club announced its wrestling team from the Bundesliga.
