The TSV Marktl is a sports club from the Upper Bavarian market Marktl (Altötting). In addition to the most successful football department with the largest number of members, the club also offers tennis, bowling and athletics. He also runs a department for ski and mountain lovers.
history
The club was founded in 1923 as a gymnastics club. In 1968 the club rose for the first time in the Upper Bavarian district league, in which it played continuously for 30 years - only interrupted by three promotions.
The club experienced its most successful sporting period in the early 1980s. 1981 succeeded the qualification for the 1st main round for the DFB-Pokal . There they lost 4-0 to the then second division club SC Freiburg . The following year he was promoted to the regional league . There, however, the sporting performance was not sufficient and the club was relegated again in the first year. Already in 1984 the immediate re-promotion succeeded, but also in the second year in the regional league the TSV Marktl ended up in the final table on a relegation place.
With the promotion to the Bavarian regional league in 1999, the club seemed to be able to build on that time. After a successful season in the upper Bavarian league, internal squabbles led to relegation to the A-class until 2009. After the 2011/12 season, TSV Marktl was able to move up to the district class. However, this was short-lived. In the first, an extremely mixed and unfortunate season, the club immediately had to relegate to the A-class.
