Plan of the tomb of Cheruef.

The grave TT192 ( English Theban Tomb 192 = Theban grave no. 192 ) is located in the necropolis of al-Asasif in Thebes- West in Egypt . It belonged to Cheruef , the Sedfest head of Amenhotep III. and at its completion would have become the largest grave of the 18th dynasty with a length of 196 m .

A ramp led into a 30 × 30 m open courtyard, which was surrounded on all sides with 10 × 11/12 fluted columns. Behind it was a wide room, which was unusually expanded into a huge hall with ten fluted and 2 × 10 papyrus bundle columns. A corridor led down below with a double row of ten papyrus bundle columns. This opened in cult chapels, which were surrounded on three sides by statue niches. A steep corridor with three changes of direction led from the pillared hall into the burial chamber 40 m below the rock. The grave remained unfinished and is now badly damaged.
