TT80 ( Theban Tomb no. 80 , Theban grave no. 80) is one of two tombs that the treasurer Thotnefer had built in the Theban necropolis . The grave dates from under Amenhotep II.

Construction details

The cult rooms of the complex are carved into the rock according to the usual Theban tombs. There is a forecourt and two cult rooms, which are laid out according to a T-shaped plan. The forecourt is approx. 5.5 m wide. The first transverse hall is approx. 5 m wide. The main hall is about 5.4 m long. At the end of the main hall there is a shaft that leads down to the burial chamber.

The decoration of the grave is painted on. In the first transverse hall there are banquet scenes and scenes that show Thotnefer and his wife Tachat in front of the sacrificial table. In the main hall, on the left wall, agricultural scenes and Thotnefer are shown at the sacrificial table. On the right wall you can see rituals of the dead and again Thothnefer in front of the sacrificial table.

Some of the paintings were never completed and today, especially in the transverse area, they are badly damaged.
