TT Hellenic Postbank was a Greek bank and postal savings bank owned by ELTA . TT are the first letters of the earlier name Ταχυδρομικό Ταμιευτήριο (Post-Sparkasse); the earlier English name was Greek Postal Savings Bank . The company benefited significantly from the Post branch network, which was better developed than the commercial banks.

By law 265 of 1900 of Prince George of Greece , the savings bank was founded on December 10, 1900 in Crete . Savings books have been issued since 1902 . In 1914 the head office moved to Athens . Postbank funded in the 1920s during the Great Depression , numerous infrastructure projects of the Greek State.
Since 2002 the company has been privately operated and was a stock corporation , since 2005 it has also been formally a commercial bank and since 2006 it has been listed on the Athens Stock Exchange . The bank was taken over in 2013 by Eurobank Ergasias , which still used the brand name on a transitional basis.
