Taavi Rand (born July 17, 1992 in Tallinn , Estonia ) is an Estonian ice dancer . He starts together with his partner Irina Štork for FSC Jääkild Tallinn. In 2010 the couple won the gold medal at the Estonian championship for the first time. Rand's older brother Kristian is also an ice dancer and won the silver medal at the 2007 Junior World Championships with his partner Grethe Grünberg .
With Irina Štork Rand won the bronze medal at the Estonian championship in 2005 at the age of 12. In 2007 and 2008, the couple won the gold medal at the national junior championships. In the Figure Skating World Junior Championship they finished 22nd place in both 2007 and of 2008. In 2007 they reached tenth place in the Junior Grand Prix competitions in Vienna and Tallinn. In the 2008-09 season, the couple temporarily separated. The following season they returned and won the Estonian Senior Championships. Since the more successful Estonian ice dance couple Caitlin Mallory / Kristian Rand cannot take part in the Olympic Games due to Mallory's lack of Estonian citizenship , Štork / Rand were nominated for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver .
