Tabea

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tabea is a female given name . The name goes back to the Aramaic form Tabitha (" Gazelle ").

Origin and meaning of the name

In the King James was Tabitha as Tabea reproduced (Acts 9.36) and transmitted with "deer". In contrast to the original Luther translation, its revisions have been using the Aramaic form Tabita since 1984 in accordance with the New Testament Greek original . This is also the case with all other German translations, so that the name form Tabea is no longer used in the more recent Bible translations.
