Tadhg Murphy
Tadhg Murphy (born May 30, 1979 in Dublin ) is an Irish actor .
Life
Murphy lost his right eye when he was thirteen playing with a homemade arrow.
He said he fell in love with the city while on vacation in Berlin . He currently lives there.
Michael Hirst , screenwriter and producer of the series Vikings , only met Tadhg on the set. At that time Tadhg was wearing an eye patch that was part of his costume. He asked Hirst if it wouldn't be better if he took out his eye for his role instead of playing with an eye patch. Hirst was startled because he didn't know until then that Tadhg really only has one eye. He decided on both variants, in the series Arne can be seen with and without a flap. Tadhg said in an interview that after a few days on the set he was annoyed by his colleagues and the crew because they asked him several times the day after to remove his eye.
