Unique³
Unique³ is the name of the former Siemens AG office building in Saarbrücken in the St. Johann district . The international-style ensemble , divided into a former office building, casino and workshops, is a listed building .
history
The three-part building was built from 1963 to 1966 based on a competition design by the Munich architect Peter C. von Seidlein (1925–2014). After Siemens moved out in 2010, the building stood empty for a few years. In 2014, the Saarlouis real estate company Bauwerk acquired the property, gutted it and renovated it energetically. With an investment of 25 million euros, 91 apartments were created in the buildings.
structure
The main building is a six-storey office building, it was built as a reinforced concrete frame construction with a glass-metal wall. The casino also exists as a former canteen and the former workshops with garages.
Segments
- Cube : The former office building now has 40 apartments and two commercial units on the ground floor.
- Garden Lofts : The former casino now houses six loft apartments with a garden and 14 two-room apartments above.
- Living : The former workshops offer space for 31 apartments.
