After the elected representative of the constituency of Bathurst North in the Bathurst Administrative Area , Pierre Sarr N'Jie (UP), had lost his seat in parliament for failing to appear, by-elections were scheduled in the constituency in December 1972. Musa A. Jobe ran as the United Party (UP) candidate in the constituency of Bathurst North. With 51.07% he was able to win over the constituency before Ibrahima BA Kelepha-Samba (PPP). For the 1977 parliamentary elections , Jobe ran again in the same constituency. With 45.11% he could not win the constituency for himself, this time he was subject to Kelepha-Samba. For the election to parliament in 1982 Jobe did not run as a candidate.
