The architect (spelling of the architect ) is the magazine of the Association of German Architects (BDA).

The magazine was founded in 1952 and has been published six times a year since 2007. the architect is interdisciplinary: In addition to architecture and urban planning , social , art and cultural studies are also taken into account. Each issue is devoted to a thematic focus in which articles, interviews and reports illuminate architectural and architectural theory, urban development and social developments from different perspectives. A magazine section provides information on current building activities, on architects and building law , and association and professional policy. The magazine is available for sale or by subscription . It reaches BDA members, architecture professors , executives in the planning and building authorities of the public sector , heads of the construction departments of large companies, banks, insurance companies and property developers , as well as executives in the construction , finance and real estate industries in particular .

The editor-in-chief has been Andreas Denk since 2000 . Further employees are Maximilian Liesner (CvD), Elina Potratz and Alice Sárosi-Tumusiime. The editorial office is based in Berlin. The edition is 9,000 copies.
