reception
Tim Krüger from the industry portal Serienjunkies.de compares the series with other "historical drama [s] produced by private broadcasters", but finds Will "not that demanding", even if it has "its own style and enough depth and tension" to stick with it. He also writes “some modernized aspects of the interpretation” that take “a great deal of artistic freedom”, such as the choice of music, but could “understandably quickly put many viewers off”.
