The Tafelhof Palais is a hotel and office complex under construction on the site of the former main post office in the immediate vicinity of the main train station in Nuremberg .

Building and planning

The four-part building ensemble with a total area of ​​around 49,000 m² consists of two high-rise buildings with ten and 13 floors respectively and two building blocks with 7 floors each. The Swiss architect Max Dudler is responsible for the design and Hubert Haupt Immobilien Holding is responsible for the planning and marketing. Most of the area will be occupied by a hotel of the Motel One chain with 16,700 m² and 526 rooms , around 14,000 m² are planned for a hotel of the Leonardo chain with 238 rooms.

After the demolition of the old main post office, construction work began in spring 2018. The listed rotunda is being renovated and integrated into the ensemble. However, only the facades and the historic stairwells remain, while the other rooms are to be gutted.

The completion of the ensemble is planned for the year 2021.
