Leonardo Hotels is a European hotel chain that belongs to the Israeli group Fattal Hotels . It operates (as of August 2020) over 200 hotels in Europe, the United Kingdom & Israel.
history
Leonardo Hotels is the European division of Fattal Hotels, founded in Israel in 1998 . The chain's founder is David Fattal, who was born in Haifa ( Israel ) in 1957 .
In 2007 the Leonardo Hotel Nürnberg was taken over as the first hotel in Germany and at the same time acted as the namesake for the entire chain. In 2012 the chain operated over 60 hotels in the 3 * to 4 * plus category in Germany , Belgium , Israel , Hungary and Switzerland . The first hotel in Austria ( Vienna ) was opened in summer 2012 .
Locations
The hotel chain has around 54 hotels in Germany (as of August 2020); in Europe there are also hotels in Belgium , Italy , the Netherlands , Austria , Poland , Switzerland , Spain , the Czech Republic , Hungary , the United Kingdom and Cyprus . There are 38 hotels in Israel (as of August 2020), including eight in Tel Aviv and three in Jerusalem . Leonardo Hotels are often located in city centers or near airports.
