Rare Disease Day
The Rare Disease Day was in Europe and Canada for the first time committed on 29 February 2008 to consider the concerns of the public that of rare diseases to make those concerned aware. Call was the day of rare diseases of EURODIS , a non-governmental patient-driven alliance of patient organizations. The rarest day of the year, the leap day that only occurs every four years, was deliberately selected. In non-leap years, Rare Disease Day is celebrated on February 28th. However, the reception in the media is then less.

Every year, the rare diseases are viewed from a special point of view and placed at the center of global campaigns with a motto:

- 2015 - day by day, hand in hand (day-by-day, hand-in-hand)
- 2014 - Join together for better care
- 2013 - Solidarity without borders (Rare disorders without borders)
- 2012 - Rare but strong together
- 2011 - Rare but equal
- 2010 - Patients and researchers - partners for life
- 2009 - Rare diseases as a public health priority
- 2008 - Rare diseases as a public health priority
