Spreetal opencast mine

The Spreetal opencast mine was north of Hoyerswerda . Lignite was mined here from 1877 to 1991 . The fields were called fields Spreetal, Bluno and Spreetal-Nordost. After the closure, the Blunoer Südsee , the Neuwieser See , the Sabrodter See and the Bergener See were created .

On October 12, 2010 there was a major breach .
