Tahdhīb al-ahkām ( Arabic تهذيب الأحكام, DMG Tahḏīb al-aḥkām  'Summary of the Laws ') is a Shiite hadith work that is one of the Four Books ( al-kutub al-arbaʿa ) and thus one of the best-known collections of Shiite traditions . The work, which contains 13,590 traditions , comes from Mohammad Ibn Hassan Tusi (995 - approx. 1068), who is known as Sheikh Tusi. He began to compile this book at the age of twenty-five while his teacher Sheikh Mufid was still alive ; one of his main sources was his " al-Muqni'a ". Sheikh Tusi mastered most of the Islamic sciences such as scholastics, hadith, legal theory and Koran exegesis. With his works he opened a new chapter in legal theory.
