Deisfeld Castle

The castle Deisfeld is an Outbound hilltop castle about 1 km north from Deisfeld , in the municipality Diemelsee in northern Hesse Waldeck-Frankenberg .

Geographical location

The small spur castle , presumably built in the early Middle Ages , the builder of which is still unknown, was located at 519 m above sea level on a steep mountain spur orographically to the right or east above the Diemel, which runs here at 416 m above sea level, and the state road L 3082 between Deisfeld and Giebringhausen . Their remains, two overgrown moats, are in the forest, in the immediate vicinity of a refuge for hikers. The hallway name "Burg" still reminds of the former castle complex.
