Fetzgesburg

The Fetzgesburg is an abandoned spur castle in the district of Haina (monastery) in the north Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg . The rampart and moat of the facility are still clearly visible.

The facility, about the construction, construction time, appearance and history of which is so far practically unknown, is located at 514  m above sea level about 1800 m east of Herbelhausen , a district of Gemünden (Wohra) , on a wooded and 520 south-west facing , 6 m high spur of the hollow stone (587.8 m) in the basement forest . The wooded area bears the field name "the castle". An initial investigation and inventory of the Fetzgesburg was carried out by the "Commission for Research into Prehistoric and Early Medieval Fortifications" of the Association for Hessian History and Regional Studies in 1900.
