Ronald Spliesgardt

Ronald Spliesgardt (born May 11, 1953 in Berlin ) is a former German cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

Spliesgardt started cycling at TSC Berlin . In 1970 he won the race in the single pursuit at the youth competition of friendship in Tallinn (a year later in Sofia he was third), in the team pursuit he won bronze with the team of the GDR (in 1971 he won gold with the team and won the points race ) . Also in 1970 he was two-time GDR champion in youth class A when he won the single and team pursuit. In 1971 he won two more medals in the same age group. He was a very fast driver and was able to underpin this strength with many victories in criteria and track races. After he had already left the sports club, he surprisingly (now starting for BSG Post Berlin ) won the GDR championship in the single pursuit in 1972. In that year he also started in the GDR tour and finished the tour as 61st he competed in races that were advertised for the drivers of the company sports associations (BSG). In 1976 he ended his career.
