The few remnants of the Spornburg are in the northwestern foothills of the Kellerwald above the right (eastern) bank of the Eder between the Vöhler districts of Kirchlotheim in the north and Schmittlotheim in the south, around 3.2  river kilometers before the Eder flows into the Edersee .
