history

In 1036, Lengefeld was first mentioned as "Lenkevelde" as the Vorwerk of the Paderborn manor in Korbach.

Below the Hünenkeller castle, which dates from the Ottonian times in the middle of the 9th century, a moated castle was built in place of today's courtyard. This was first mentioned in a document in 1228 in connection with the Lords of Lengefeld . It is not certain whether these were the builders.

In 1272 it was owned by Albert von Mühlhausen as a fief of the Counts of Everstein . In 1318 Ulrich von Escheberg was enfeoffed with the castle. In the same year there was another change of ownership when Henricus Teddesalt (also known as Tedesaltz) received the castle as a fief. His family held the fief until 1632, when Philipp Tedesalt died.

Lengefeld became the property of the Counts of Waldeck in the 14th century and belonged to the Eisenberg office in the 15th century . Count Wolrad IV von Waldeck-Eisenberg enfeoffed his chancellor Zacharias Vietor with the castle in 1632. In 1675, when the male line of the Vietors became extinct , Johann Georg Rauchbar, who had married a daughter of Johannes Vietor, became the new owner. The fiefdom was all modified and sold in 1811 by Prince Friedrich Karl August von Waldeck and Pyrmont . Then there were several changes of ownership. One of the owners was Gustav Kleinschmit .

Today the farm is privately owned. An internal inspection is not possible.

investment

In the manor house , not visible from the outside, the stump of a square residential tower is hidden , which probably dates from the 14th / 15th centuries. Century. It has a wall thickness of about two meters, was removed down to three floors in the 17th century and is comparable in appearance to that of Burg Nordenbeck . The building itself was later rebuilt and renewed several times. At the beginning of the 19th century it received a half-timbered extension . The former moats are now completely filled.
