Gustav Kleinschmit , from September 26, 1878 Freiherr Gustav Kleinschmit von Lengefeld (born November 1, 1811 in Arolsen , † November 26, 1879 in Marburg ) was a German lawyer and politician .

Kleinschmit was the son of court judge Friedrich Carl Kleinschmit and his wife Christiane Sophie Friederike nee Suden. He married Cornelia Caroline von Hadel on September 18, 1838 in Arolsen.

Kleinschmit studied law at the University of Göttingen in 1828/29 . He then continued his studies in Marburg and Heidelberg. After graduating in 1831, he became a candidate for office. From 1835 he was a lawyer and court court procurator in Korbach and then government procurator and regional tax office in Arolsen. In 1843 he was appointed judicial officer in Arolsen, where he was judicial officer in 1848 and district judge in 1850. In 1853 he was promoted to the district judge. In 1858 he took his leave and lived in Marburg or on his estates. He owned the Lengefeld , Meineringhausen and Dingeringhausen estates , which he converted into a family entourage in 1870 . In 1878 he was raised as Gustav Freiherr Kleinschmit von Lengefeld to the Waldeck baron class.

From 1849 to 1851 he was a member of the state parliament of the Principality of Waldeck-Pyrmont for the 10th constituency and from 1859 to 1863 for the constituency of Twiste . From 1862 to 1863 he was Vice President of Parliament.
