A mill is mentioned for the first time in 1530. From 1556 large iron mines were operated in open-cast mining. "Am Niegelscheid" near the village was a limestone quarry in operation from the 17th to the 19th century , in which black marble was quarried . The building material for the Carlsruhe hunting lodge in Sudeck was extracted from the marble quarries of Giebringhausen around 1730 . A lead mine was set up in 1730 without encountering any minable ore. By electoral law of May 23, 1849, the place was assigned to constituency VII of the Imperial Duchy of Waldeck-Pyrmont by Princess Emma of Waldeck and Pyrmont .
Incorporations
On December 31, 1971, Giebringhausen and twelve other communities formed the new community of Diemelsee.
church
In 1542 a chapel is mentioned for the first time as a branch of Adorf . It is said to have been near the Diemel . The Giebringhäuser had to deliver the sexton oats, the sacrificial rye and the salary fruit to the parish . In addition, the Adorf pastor had to be provided with a wagon so that he could come to the church service, the school exam or a deceased person. The service in Giebringhausen took place on ten Sundays a year. The rest of the time you had to go to Sudeck or Adorf to attend church services. Confirmations , marriages, baptisms and burials took place in Adorf.
Only in 1829 did the place get its own cemetery (Totenhof). After the Second World War this was leveled. The current cemetery was laid out in 1906.
The present church was built in 1841. At the beginning of the 1970s a coffin chamber was added to the north side. Renovations have been carried out repeatedly since the 1950s. The pulpit behind the altar was torn down and a new one was built on the window. In 2002 a large fresco by the Arols artist Dieter Blum was installed in a niche behind the altar. The fresco shows the good shepherd, from the biblical passage "The Lord is my Shepherd - I will lack nothing" This psalm , Psalm 23 is to the right of the picture. Since 1960 Giebringhausen belongs to the parish of Heringhausen .
