Taifa is a place in the Greater Accra Region in the West African state of Ghana .

Taifa is in the northwestern outskirts of Accra . It has a train stop and a small park. The Ghanaian Atomic Energy Commission is located on the northern edge of Taifa .

At the last census of the country on March 26, 2000, 26,145 inhabitants lived in the city. Projections for January 1, 2007 estimate the population to be 48,927. In the 1984 census, only 1,009 inhabitants were listed. The city is currently number 28 on the list of the largest cities in Ghana.

The strong population growth is influenced, among other things, by a large number of migrants who move from more rural parts of the country to the vicinity of Tema in order to find employment here.
