The Tailed Comedians are an a cappella ensemble from Wiesbaden . The group was formed in 1985 as part of a school cabaret as a vocal performance by five Wiesbaden students. The first full-length theater program premiered in Wiesbaden in 1989. The group has been in the current line-up since 1992. In 2010, pianist Dirk Sobe took the place of pianist Thomas Teske. The group has specialized entirely in the music of the 1920s and 1930s and, in addition to the original arrangements by the world-famous Comedian Harmonists and their successor groups, also sing their own arrangements. But pieces of music by other vocal groups active in the 1920s and 1930s are also interpreted by the Tailed Comedians. A trademark here is the comedic element in addition to a musical representation that comes very close to the musical model, the Comedian Harmonists.

Director Joseph Vilsmaier , who created the group for his award-winning film Comedian Harmonists as vocal doubles for the actors ( Ben Becker , Heino Ferch , Ulrich Noethen , Heinrich Schafmeister , Max Tidof and Kai Wiesinger ) for everyone , found that the Tailed Comedians come closest to their great role model engaged the music recordings that are not from the original.

In 2015 the Tailed Comedians broke up.
