St. Ingenuin and Albuin in Taisten

Taisten (dialect the Taisten ; Italian Tesido ) is a village in the east of South Tyrol and a fraction of the municipality Welsberg-Taisten . The village is located at an altitude of about 1200  m above the confluence of the Gsies valley and the Pustertal valley . The village, which has over 1200 inhabitants, extends on a south-facing sloping terrace. Taisten houses several buildings of art-historical value (such as the churches of St. Georg or St. Ingenuin and Albuin ), some of which are decorated with paintings by the late Gothic master Simon von Taisten .
