The Taiwan Power Company ( Chinese  臺灣 電力 股份有限公司  /  台湾 电力 股份有限公司 , Pinyin Tāiwān Diànlì Gǔfènyǒuxiàngōngsī , also known as Taipower ) is a state-owned power company that supplies Taiwan and its coastal islands with electricity.

The company was founded on May 1, 1946 in Taipei. Taipower is a vertically integrated company whose field of activity is the generation, transmission, distribution and sale of energy. In 1994 an agreement was reached that aims to break the previous monopoly and enable independent energy producers to feed in up to twenty percent of the electricity they need in Taiwan.

In 2015, 219.1 billion kilowatt hours were produced and 13.61 million customers were served. To this end, Taipower operated systems with a total capacity of 41 GW , 606 distribution stations, 17,412 kilometers of overhead lines and 361,201 kilometers of electrical cable lines.

TaiPower sponsors the Taiwan Power Company FC soccer club , one of the best in the country.
