Tak Tak Wolff
Tak Tak Wolff (or Taktak Wolff) was an Austrian pop band from the 1980s and belongs to the Neue Deutsche Welle . The band originally consisted of Mike Bernthaler and Peppone Kerschbaum (both from Klagenfurt , Carinthia ).
history
After Mike Bernthaler (vocals, guitar, computer) and Peppone Kerschbaum (keyboards, computer) had previously been on the road with their own bands ( Faust and Faun ), they separated from their fellow musicians in 1985 and from then on worked together in their home studio. The success came soon afterwards in 1986 with the single Du Mädchen Du , produced by Fred Jakesch from Vienna.
The song was very popular with Ö3 , had good airplay and several TV appearances followed. The single even made it to number 1 in various radio charts (e.g. Radio Uno), on Ö3 the song rose to number 11, but dropped out of the Ö3 hit parade a week later. The small Viennese label NeoNeo did not have the financial means to have enough records produced for the sale and thus the hit parade placement (the first edition of 5000 copies was sold out immediately).
After this initial success, the duo worked for a while in Eela Craig's studio in Linz on an LP; however, this production was never completed as their NeoNeo label broke up. Real interests of large German record companies in a release by Tak Tak Wolff also failed.
The duo produced the single Kinder with numerous celebrities as a benefit campaign for Licht ins Dunkel before Mike Bernthaler and Peppone Kerschbaum split. The song was in the Ö3 Hit Parade for 5 weeks (best position 21st).
Mike Bernthaler released the single Crocodile Rock in 1987 as Tak Tak Wolff with the collaboration of Fred Jakesch (producer; ex Rosachrome ), Helmut Bibl (guitar; ex Falco , Drahdiwaberl, Hallucination Company) and Oliver Welter (guitar, naked lunch ) . The best placement in the Ö3 charts was 23rd.
The English-language single Tears In Your Eyes , released in 1988 and released by Koch Records, flopped completely despite an elaborately produced video clip. This sealed the temporary end of Tak Tak Wolff .
After years of parting ways, Mike Bernthaler and Peppone Kerschbaum played together again in 2005 for one year in the band Eizer - hardcore dance band .
In 2009 the reload and the re-establishment of the band took place. Gert Trappitsch (guitar), Manfred Mack (drums) and Harald Klary (bass) are new to the team.
In autumn 2010, the band applied to vote for the song contest preliminary decision . It did not reach the top 30 group.
In April 2019 they presented their first album Tak Tak Wolff and at the same time gave a farewell concert in Klagenfurt.
