Takako Hashimoto

Takako Hashimoto , Japanese 橋本 多 佳 子 Hashimoto Takako (born January 15, 1899 in Tokyo ; † May 29, 1963 ), actually Hashimoto Tama ( 橋本 多 満 ), was a Japanese haiku poet of the Shōwa period .

Life

Hashimoto Takako was born on January 15, 1899 in Hongō , Tokyo as Yamatani Tama ( 山谷 多 満 ). She attended the Japanese Painting Department at the Kikuzawa Girls' Art School, but dropped out there.

In 1917 she married the wealthy architect Hashimoto Toyojirō ( 橋本 豊 次郎 ) and organized “cultural meetings” in his house. She was trained in haiku poetry by Sugita Hisajo and was a student of Yamaguchi Seishi . She left behind many passionate love poems. She was also the editor of the haiku magazine Shichiyō ( 七曜 , "Seven Days of the Week").
