Takano Sasaburō

Takano Sasaburō ( Japanese 高 野 佐 三郎 ; * June 28, 1862 , † December 31, 1950 ) was a Japanese Kendōka .

He was a well-known representative of the Nakanishi-ha Ittō-ryū and the Hokushin Ittō-ryū and was appointed Hanshi in April 1913 . In the Kendo graduation system before 1956, this graduation corresponded to today's 9th or 10th Dan. He taught Kendo at the Tokyo Higher Normal School (later Tokyo University of Education ), Waseda University and the Tokyo City Police. He was one of the five chairmen of the committee that developed the Dai-Nihon-Teikoku-Kata (Kendo Kata of the Great Japanese Empire) and published it in 1915.
