Takata ( Japanese 高田 町 , - machi ) was a city in Miike-gun in Fukuoka Prefecture in Japan , which was merged with the cities of Yamakawa and Setaka under the name Miyama on January 29, 2007 .

In 2003 Takata had an estimated population of 14,525 people in an area of ​​41.01 km², which corresponds to a population density of 354.18 people per km².
