Takayuki Nishigaya ( Japanese 西 ヶ 谷 隆 之 , Nishigaya Takayuki ; born May 12, 1973 in Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player and coach.

Career

Nishigaya learned to play soccer on the school team of Shimizu Commercial High School and the university team of Tsukuba University . He signed his first contract with Nagoya Grampus Eight in 1996 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 1996 he was runner-up in the J1 League with the club. For the club, he completed 35 top division games. In 1998 he moved to league rivals Avispa Fukuoka . For the club he completed 25 first division games. He then played for Verdy Kawasaki (1999), JEF United Ichihara (2000) and Albirex Niigata (2001). At the end of 2001 he ended his career as a football player.
