Taken by Trees is the name of the solo project of the Swedish singer Victoria Bergsman (born May 4, 1977 ).

biography

Victoria Bergsman was a member of the Concretes until 2006 . Shortly thereafter she was a guest singer on the song Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John , which became an international hit. With Bjorn (actually Björn Yttling) she recorded four more songs and put them on the Internet under the name Taken by Trees .

In 2007, the debut album Open Field was released , which was able to place in the Swedish charts. For the second album, East of Eden , recordings were made with singers in Pakistan and used for the new CD. The album was also released in the US, where it reached number 39 on the Heatseaker charts.

The folk version of the Guns'n'-Roses hit Sweet Child o 'Mine by Taken by Trees was used in advertising for the British department store chain John Lewis in late 2009 . It was released as a single and then reached number 23 on the UK charts.
