René Bianco
René Bianco (born June 21, 1908 in Constantine , Algeria , † January 24, 2008 in Charbonnières-les-Bains ) was a French opera singer (baritone).
Life
Bianco made his debut as a singer at the theater in his hometown, and he also appeared in Algiers, Oran and Tunis. In 1948 he came to Paris, where he worked in the Salle Favart in The Tales of Hoffmann by Jacques Offenbach occurred and at the Paris Opera with the title role of Wagner's Lohengrin debuted.
In his almost 70 year career on stage, his repertoire comprised more than 80 works. Bianco sang the most important baritone roles in the operas of Giacomo Puccini , Giuseppe Verdi , Richard Wagner , Gustave Charpentier , Georges Bizet , Charles Gounod , Jean-Philippe Rameau and Jules Massenet and also participated in some world premieres of contemporary operas.
In addition, Bianco worked as a singing teacher, u. a. at the Québec Conservatory for two years.
