Taki is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal . The city is located near the border with Bangladesh .
The city is part of the Uttar 24 Pargana district . Taki has the status of a municipality . The city is divided into 16 wards . On the cut-off date of the 2011 census it had 38,263 inhabitants, of which 19,562 were men and 18,701 women. Hindus make up the majority of the city's population with a share of around 85%. Muslims form a minority with a share of around 15%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 83.1% and thus above the national average.
Taki Road Station is on the Barasat-Hasnabad line, which is part of the Kolkata Suburban Railway system.
