Takis Zenetos

Panagiotis "Takis" Zenetos ( Greek Παναγιώτης "Τάκης" Ζενέτος , * 1926 in Athens ; † June 28, 1977 ibid) was a Greek modernist architect.

Life

Zenetos studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris and graduated in 1954. In 1977 he committed suicide in Athens.

Of the buildings he realized, the villas in Kavouri and Glyfada (both demolished) are considered to be his most important works. The protruding terraces of this building were particularly remarkable. Zenetos' most famous building is the Fix brewery . In total, Zenetos completed over 120 buildings.

Constantopoulos writes about Zenetos: "Zenetos was always concernd about the problem how to break the cube-box in ways that are functional and not merely formalist."
